Loren EP Review on Music-Dash.co.uk

Taken from www.music-dash.co.uk, review by Parker Knoll

"Born and raised in Manchester, a young man called Christopher is the man behind Loren. It’s a remix / computer composed project that finds a rhythmic cocktail supplemented by loops and samples and segments of various field recordings. “Lost Language” is a drum pattern, subtly narrated by distant echoed voices, barely audible but high in atmospheric effect. Amazingly, Loren transfixes his soundtracks with just a series of beats and very little in the way of musical intervention. There’s just a hint of a note and a faint vocal cry evaporating on the distance, well into three minutes of the second track “Brixton Lights”. Each number seems to maintain the same BPM and the final outing “Back & Forth”, provides the same hypnotic mixing and programming style - which it seems is powerful enough to keep a rave going all night (and day) long. Unusual, but this will be firmly revered on any club turntable"
